PROLINER®

Composite cladding New Urban Museum Amsterdam

Composite is a material that consists of different components, often referred to fiber strong plastics. Composite is extremely strong, light and flexible to use. It is used for example in the Formula 1 and aviation.

The firm Holland Composites Industrials (HCI) is a manufacturer of high quality composite products. They are specialized in manufacturing cladding and the satisfied user of the Prodim Proliner®.

For the “New Urban Museum” in Amsterdam the company Holland Composites Industrials (HCI) received the assignment to cover the facade with composite plates that offer a lot of freedom for the architect. These plates can be made in every imaginable colour, illuminating and formless. Also, these plates are UV resistant, colourfast, stainless and chemically resistant what makes the cleaning and maintenance very easy.

Recently, the entire facade of the ‘New Urban Museum’ in Amsterdam was very successfully measured with the Prodim Proliner®. HCI used the Proliner® 8 to measure the different plates and with the Proliner® Survey software these were quickly and accurately positioned. They also simply indicated the mounting holes, by which it is hung on the building structure. The Proliner® is also used for measuring 3D corners where the panels fit together. HCI took care of the entire production process, from measuring to the actual production of the panels.

HCI uses a CNC water jet cutter, which cuts both flat and corrugated sheets in any desired contour and provides the mounting holes.

With the purchase of the Proliner®, HCI can do the overall process from measuring to the production in-house. They do no longer have to contract out the measuring part of the job.

Mr. Janssen, Production Manager, is delighted with the Prodim Proliner®; “It is very simple to use and extremely fast. A major advantage of working with the Proliner® I find the dimensional accuracy and the easy way of working.”
